Everyone who knew Gary seemed to radiate to him. In 2018 Gary volunteered as a mediator for Judicare. Gary was also an outside salesman for Crescent Electric for 16 years until he made a notable midlife change and became a realtor for Coldwell Banker Action Realty.
He owned a hobby farm for 17 years until the struggling farm industry forced the “little guys” to fold. He was a Building Inspector for the Town of Stettin in the 1980s. Following that passion, he built “spec homes from the 1990’s until 2009. Gary worked in construction for Schuette Builders Companies from Newnan, GA to Alaska. Gary served his country as a veteran of the Army National Guards with the 632nd division for 7 years and was called up for the riots in Madison often facing his fellow classmates.

They were both professional volunteers who served from the heart. Together, they founded Wings-a Grief Education Ministry™ to aid the bereaved through loss. It was a devastating blow that turned their life into a new mission.
Chad’s death created an even greater influence that shaped the person Gary became. A son, Chad, was born in 1971 and died in 1993 because of suicide. Their first child, Jalane, was born in 1970 with special needs. During their 55 years of marriage, there were triumphs and tragedies. He died unexpectedly following a heart procedure. (The best thing that ever happened to me in my life!).
It is with great sadness, that Nan announces the death of her husband, Gary. He was a builder and salesman by profession, but a champion of the human spirit by default.
